How to Roast Potatoes in your air fryer in only 20 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 lbs Potatoes
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil (any neutral oil)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs of your choice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Only use potatoes that are suitable for roasting, I recommend, for the UK, Maris Piper or King Edwards, for the USA, Yukon Gold, are a good choice.
  2. Wash, peel and chop your potatoes into 1¼ inch pieces.
  3. Rinse the potatoes in cold water to remove any starch, pat them dry on a towel.
  4. Get them into a clean dry bowl, add half the oil from the ingredient list (Sunflower oil is used in the video) and a good pinch of sea salt.
  5. Using your hands, toss them until they are completely coated with the oil, set them aside for now.
  6. Pre-heat your air fryer to 390°F run for 3 minutes.
  7. Once preheated, add the potatoes to the basket, set the temperature to 390°F set the to 20 minutes.
  8. After 5 minutes, give the potatoes a good shake, get the back into the air fryer.
  9. After 10 minutes get the out again, give them a good shake once more and add the other half of the oil, now reduce the air fryer temperature to 355° get them back in for the remaining 10 minutes.
  10. After 15 minutes, give them a final shake, get them back in for the last five minutes.
  11. The shaking every 5 minutes ensures even cooking and colour, plus shaking roughens up the edges of the potatoes making for a crispier roastie.
  12. Finally tip them into a kitchen paper lined bowl, to remove any excess oil.
  13. Remove the paper, add your chosen fresh herbs, (Rosemary, Thyme or parsley are good choices) salt, and black pepper.
  14. Serve piping hot and crispy.
