Diana was laid to rest on a small secluded tree-covered island at the Althorp Estate known as Oval Lake Grave. Althorp has been home to the spencer family for more than 500 years. Thirty six oak trees were planted near the oval lake in honor of Princess Diana each one marking the 36 years of her life.
