Baked Donuts
Baked Donuts
Here we are exploring how to make donuts using a Donut pan. Yes, you bake them in the oven. You don't need oil to fry up donuts like the traditional way. These are healthier, safer and super easy. No hot splashing oil involved.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour/ white flour
  • 1 cup refine white sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup fresh milk/ i use almond milk
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 eggs

Glaze (2 kinds)

  • 1 cup Semi sweet chocolate melted with 2 tbsp fresh milk
  • 1 cup White chocolate melted with 2 tbsp fresh milk

Toppings

  • Rainbow sprinkles
  • Coconut flakes
  • Sugar

TIP:  If you want to make chocolate donuts just add cocoa powder.  Take half the batter you just made and add 2 tablespoons.  If you want to make them all chocolate just add another tablespoon and go from there. Depending on your taste.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350
  2. Mix everything together
  3. Spray baking pan
  4. Poor into each slot (this work great with a measuring cup) up to edge of the center hole pole
  5. Put into the oven for 15 minutes
  6. Take out and let cool for just a few minutes so you can remove them from the pan and place them on the cooling rack.
  7. Put on the glaze or and/or whatever toppings you like

Glaze Instrutions:

  1. Microwave the milk chocolate for 30 seconds then take the bowl out and give it a stir.
  2. Place the bowl back in the microwave and repeat the process of cooking for 15 seconds, stirring in betwen until the chocolate has melted.
  3. If there are just one or two lumps that still have not melted, keep stirring it outside the microwave to melt the last few pieces using the residual heat of the bowl.
  4. Once the chocolate has melted, leave it to cool for a minute or two before using, because microwaved food continues to cook for a little while afterwards.

TIP:  The best chocolate to use has at least 32% cocoa butter.  Comes out smooth and won't burn as easy.  If you are using a good brand you can just use chocolate chips.

Tools needed:

Microwave melting method is at 2:14.
