An easy smoked baked bean recipe that can be made on the smoker or in the oven.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 3 - 16 oz cans of Pork & Beans
- 2 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce
- 1/2 cup Ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 3 to 4 Garlic Cloves minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 5 to 6 strips Bacon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Onions, diced
DIRECTIONS
- Chop up and cook the bacon about halfway.
- Once the bacon is about half cooked you will add in the ground beef. Break it up as it cooks a bit.
- Add in the onions and garlic. Sitr it all up and mix until the beef is all browned and the onions are soft and translucent.
- Add in salt and pepper. Keep cooking until it's finished.
- Take away from heat and drain any fat from the pan.
- Add beans and mix it in.
- Add brown sugar and mix it in.
- Add barbeque sauce and ketchup. MIx it all in.
- Add remaining ingredients and stir it all up together.
- Put it in your smoker on 225 for about 2-3 hours. Until it's all bubbly and the sauce has thickened.
NOTES
- If you don't have a smoker you could just stick it in the oven on 350 for around 1 hour and 30 minutes. You're using liquid smoke so you already have that smoky flavor.
- If you don't have a cast iron skillet you'll need to get one with high enough edges OR I would suggest a dutch oven.
