Grenadine is a sweet and tart syrup that's often used in cocktails, but it can also be enjoyed on its own. Pomegranate juice is the key ingredient in grenadine. It gives grenadine its unique flavor and color. Pomegranate juice is also a good source of antioxidants, which can help protect your cells from damage.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups pomegranate juice
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 tsp pomegranate molasses or make your own
- 1/2 tsp rose water (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Put juice, sugar and molasses into a sauce pot on low. You don't want it to boil. You just want the sugar to dissolve.
- Once it has mostly dissolved; turn off the heat and add the rose water.
- Set it aside (on ice or not) long enough to get it to room temperature. Once it has cooled you can bottle it.
