How to: Making Almond Milk
How to: Making Almond Milk
This easy Almond Milk recipes is made with just 2 ingredients, and is ready in 10 minutes or less! It tastes SO MUCH BETTER than the store-bought kind, without preservatives or added sugar.

SOAK TIIME: 4-8 hours

PREP TIME:  10 minutes

TOTAL TIME: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 6 cups water

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. First thing is to put your Almonds in a bowl and soak them overnight in 2 cups of water.
  2. Drain the soaked almonds and rinse them well. (Discard the soaking water.) Combine all of the almonds and 4 cups of fresh water in a blender, and blend until the almonds have broken down and the milk looks creamy.
  3. Strain the almond milk through a nut-milk bag or cheese cloth, squeezing well to extract the extra liquid. You can save the remaining almond pulp for another recipe, or discard.
  4. Store the almond milk in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. (You can freeze leftovers, if needed, for up to 3 months, too!)

TIP:  If you're going to use the almond pulp let it dry out first.  Use this in whatever recipe calls for almond meal.  The color comes from the almond shells.  If you want it more clear white you can peel the almonds before soaking.

OPTIONAL: 1 tsp Vanilla Extract and 1-2 Pitted Dates (or 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup) if you'd like a slightly sweeter version.

What's your reaction?
