How To Make Alcohol With 2 Ingredients
Learn how to make alcohol at home using just 2 simple ingredients — apple juice and yeast. In this step-by-step guide you'll see how easy it is to turn store-bought juice into real, drinkable alcohol in just a few days. Perfect for beginners who want to try home brewing cider, mead, or wine without special equipment. This simple method works for most fruit juices — and costs just a few dollars to get started!

INGREDIENTS

  • Sterilized 1 litre bottle
  • 1 litre Apple juice (cheap Aldi juice works just fine.  Any carton of juice will work.)
  • 1/2 tsp bread yeast

NOTES

  • Need a ciphon?  This Fermtech ciphon works great and does not require using your mouth which could introduce bacteria to your batch.
  • This batch of cider does NOT use sugar so it only gets to about 6% ABV.  If you want it strong checker out the wine version.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour the juice into your clean sterilized bottle so there is about an inch or so of space left at the top.
  2. Add the yeast.
  3. Put the cap back on and give it a shake oxidize it (jump starts the oxygen).
  4. Take the cover back off the bottle.  Now put the cover back on but only give it a HALF TURN.  Just enough so the gasses can pass through. The cap will be nice and loose.  Gently squeeze the bottle to make sure.
  5. Put your bottle in a bowl and place it in a warm place for at least 5-7 days. (about 65-72 degrees).
  6. You'll know it's ready once it becomes clear.  It may take longer than 7 days.
