Blackberry, Brie, and Basil Grilled Cheese
Sweet, tart blackberries with melty, nutty brie cheese, fresh basil, and a drizzle of honey on the crispiest sourdough bread. This unique combination is a must try this summer.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 slices crusty bread sourdough, Italian, etc.
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, rind removed and cut in strips
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • honey, for drizzling
  • butter, for cooking

DIRECTIONS

  1. Divide the brie cheese between 2 slices of bread. Top with blackberries, and basil leaves. Drizzle honey on top, and add remaining bread slices to form 2 sandwiches.
  2. Spread the butter on the outsides of bread. (Or melt into the pan).
  3. Heat a skillet over medium low heat. Add the sandwiches, and cook for about 3-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden and cheese is melted.
  4. If needed, add a lid to the top of the skillet to help the cheese melt.
