Sweet, tart blackberries with melty, nutty brie cheese, fresh basil, and a drizzle of honey on the crispiest sourdough bread. This unique combination is a must try this summer.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 slices crusty bread sourdough, Italian, etc.
- 8 ounces brie cheese, rind removed and cut in strips
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- honey, for drizzling
- butter, for cooking
DIRECTIONS
- Divide the brie cheese between 2 slices of bread. Top with blackberries, and basil leaves. Drizzle honey on top, and add remaining bread slices to form 2 sandwiches.
- Spread the butter on the outsides of bread. (Or melt into the pan).
- Heat a skillet over medium low heat. Add the sandwiches, and cook for about 3-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden and cheese is melted.
- If needed, add a lid to the top of the skillet to help the cheese melt.
