Kesha’s Backstabber video finally arrives 17 years after filming. Revisit the sharp-tongued Animal favorite and its long-awaited official premiere.
Some pop time capsules come with glitter and a grudge. Kesha officially released her “Backstabber” music video on October 26, 2026, finally giving footage filmed in 2009 its moment in the spotlight. The song appeared on her 2010 debut album, Animal, pairing an irresistible dance-pop hook with a sharp-tongued takedown of gossip, betrayal and two-faced friends. Although the shelved video leaked online years ago, its official arrival roughly 17 years after filming makes this a long-overdue premiere rather than a newly filmed throwback. For longtime fans, it’s a welcome reunion with the mischievous attitude and unapologetic swagger that helped make early Kesha unforgettable.
