A harpsichord is a musical instrument played by means of a keyboard. This activates a row of levers that turn a trigger mechanism that plucks one or more strings with a small plectrum made from quill or plastic.

If you are someone that has taken piano lessons you will recognize the playing styles of Harpsichord.  Beginners on the piano are not allowed to use the pedals.  So it winds up playing similar to the harpsichord which has no pedals.

Harpsichord is a pre-cursor to the piano.  While they are similar in ways the harpsichord is very unique in its own style.
