A c omforting bacon onion noodles with crispy bacon and garlic in only 10 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 9oz dried noodles (or spaghetti)
  • 6oz smoked bacon (adjust to your taste)
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 onion
  • A little parsley (or any herbs you like)

DIRECTIONS

Cook the noodles

  1. Cook the dried noodles in boiling water for 7 minutes, about 2 -3 minutes less than the package directions.
  2. Drain and set aside.

Make the sauce and toss the noodles

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil.
  2. Add the smoked bacon and cook over low heat until the fat renders and the bacon is lightly crispy.
  3. Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden.
  4. Remove half of the bacon and garlic from the pan and set aside.
  5. Add the onion and cook until softened.
  6. Add 2 tsp soy sauce, 1/4 tsp dark soy sauce, 1/4 tsp paprika, a little black pepper, and some pasta water. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  7. Add the cooked noodles and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Add the reserved bacon, garlic, and chopped parsley. Toss everything together and serve immediately.
