A c omforting bacon onion noodles with crispy bacon and garlic in only 10 minutes.
INGREDIENTS
- 9oz dried noodles (or spaghetti)
- 6oz smoked bacon (adjust to your taste)
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1/2 onion
- A little parsley (or any herbs you like)
DIRECTIONS
Cook the noodles
- Cook the dried noodles in boiling water for 7 minutes, about 2 -3 minutes less than the package directions.
- Drain and set aside.
Make the sauce and toss the noodles
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil.
- Add the smoked bacon and cook over low heat until the fat renders and the bacon is lightly crispy.
- Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden.
- Remove half of the bacon and garlic from the pan and set aside.
- Add the onion and cook until softened.
- Add 2 tsp soy sauce, 1/4 tsp dark soy sauce, 1/4 tsp paprika, a little black pepper, and some pasta water. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Add the cooked noodles and toss to coat evenly.
- Add the reserved bacon, garlic, and chopped parsley. Toss everything together and serve immediately.
