Mustard fried chicken is a flavorful, crispy dish made by using yellow mustard as a binder and tenderizer, allowing spices to adhere better to the meat. Chicken is coated in mustard and seasonings, dredged in seasoned flour, and fried until golden.
INGREDIENTS
- 16 chicken wings pieces (about 2 -2.5 pounds ),cleaned and pat dry
- 1 cup + 1/4 cup flour
- 3 teaspoon Adobo All Purpose seasoning
- 2 +1/2 teaspoon Badia Complete seasoning
- 2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoon French’s yellow mustard
- vegetable or canola oil (for frying)
DIRECTIONS
- Add flour, Glam Kitchen All Purpose seasoning , complete seasoning , paprika, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder to a large, gallon size resealable bag.
- Seal the bag and shake the bag until the seasoning is evenly distributed in the flour
- In a large bowl, add the clean and dried chicken wings and mustard – mix well until all chicken wings are evenly coated with the mustard.
- Preheat your deep fryer or pot of grease. (Make sure your grease is hot before you begin frying)
- Add chicken wings in small batches to the bag of seasoned flour, shake well, and fry the wings in small batches for 7-10 minutes until they are fully cooked and golden (I like my wings well done so I fry mine for 9-10 minutes, feel free to fry them to your liking)
- Remove the cooked wings from the grease and drain them on a baker rack lined with paper towel underneath so that both sides of the chicken remain crunchy.
- Serve and enjoy!
