How To Unclog a Sink
How To Unclog a Sink
This three ingredient process is great for drain maintenance. Depending on where you live some do this once a month while others may do it once a week. Keep those pipes clear and not need a plumber.

5 Easy Steps

  1. Pour a pot of boiling water down the drain.
  2. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Pour 1 cup of white vinegar down the drain and let the mixture sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Pour a second pot of boiling water down the drain.
  5. Run hot tap water for 5 minutes to make sure any remaining gunk is cleared out.

TIP:  While you're waiting for that 10-20 minutes between the baking soda and vinegar is a good time to get that second pot of water boiling.

Here's another version to immediately unclog a drain.

  • 3.5oz (100ml) dish soap
  • 1 tablespoon course salt
  • 3.5oz (100ml) white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
