These ribs are as simple and tasty as you can get BUT they do take about 4 hours. You won't regret the time and effort. Fall of the bone tender.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 white onion, julienned
- 3 cloves of garlic, peeled
- 3-4 lbs ribs
- dry rub (your favorite or make the one below)
- bbq sauce (your favorite or make the one below)
- yellow mustard
- red wine vinegar
DIRECTIONS
- Pre-heat oven to 250F
- Julienne the onion, add to the dutch oven
- Peel the garlic, add to the dutch oven
- Spread out your ribs on a cutting board and cover in mustard
- Cover the ribs in your favorite bbq rub or the one below
- Place the ribs in the dutch over on top of the onions (fat side up)
- Add red wine vinegar (spritz around, about 1 tbsp)
- Cover with lid and bake for 1 hour
- Pull out the ribs, flip them over and bake for 1 hour
- Take out the ribs, flip them and cook for 1 final hour
- After that third out you will take out the ribs, increase the temperature to 350F
- Add 1 cup your favorite bbq sauce or the one below
- Brush it all over
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes
- Take them out and flip
- Add more bbq sauce (optional)
- Bake for a final 20 minutes
- Serve immediately
Dry Rub Ingredients
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup smoke paprika
- 3 tbs black pepper
- 3 tbs kosher salt
- 2 tsp garlic and parsley powder (or 1 tsp of each)
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp celery seed
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper or cajun seasoning (optional)
