Absolutely relentless on each track; the pure raw energy and uncompromising invocation manages to get perfectly transmitted through your speakers; Deicide changed the metal landscape with this absolutely blasphemous sonic assault on your senses! I still remember the first time I listened to this album in 1990 and I still enjoy listening to it quite frequently...A game changer!

If deicide only released this album and their second (and best album) Legion that still would be more than enough to cement their legacy as one of death metal's finest bands of all time
  • A must own for death metal fans

Unoriginal... Uninspired... This band is like the equivalent of a Death Metal Stryper. How this band sells any albums, I will never know. I can't even take Glenn Benton seriously. He's the kind of like the Jack Black of Death Metal. He is a parody of the genre. I suggest he try to find his own voice. Right from the beginning, he has always come off as a wannabe! Anyway, for you kids that want to listen to some real Death Metal, get into Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, Nile, Obituary, Resurrection, Entombed, Dismember, Malevolent Creation, Death, Massacre, etc.
  • Pure Satanic Death Metal Classic!!

This album and "Legion" are about as perfect as it gets. If you want an album that is relentless and heavy, evil and pounding then there is no better example than Deicide's first two records.Even the third album "Once upon the Cross" is a classic filled with great riffs and unrelenting heaviness. This is powerful stuff..

this is my #1 favorite album of all time. I couldnt tell you how many times i've listened to it all the way through, it's an all out evil album with wonderful solos and haunting vocals. I have every single Deicide album. All of them are amazing, but this is by far the best! Legion is a very close second buy them all you will not be disappointed!!

This is really a great album. It's fast, up-beat, and in your face. If you're just getting into death metal, then Deicide, Morbid Angel, Terrorizer, and Death are good places to start. Truely a great piece for a metalhead's collection.

this is one of the three perfect Deicide albums in my opinion(Legion and Once upon the Cross are the others) yeah the lyrics kinda run together but i dont care. at least buy those three albums if you understand death metal
