The Womack Sisters continue their impressive revival of classic soul with “Monster,” another taste of the trio’s highly anticipated self-titled debut album. Sisters Kucha, Zeimani and BG Womack have been steadily introducing a new generation to their rich harmonies and unmistakably old-school sound while proving that soul music doesn’t have to live in the past.
“Monster” arrives as the third track on The Womack Sisters, an 11-song debut album set for release August 14, 2026, through Daptone Records. The project also includes the previously heard “Chauffeur,” “If You Want Me,” “If I Let You” and “You Went Away Too Long.”
Music is quite literally in the sisters’ blood. They are the daughters of Cecil Womack and Linda Womack of Womack & Womack, granddaughters of legendary soul singer Sam Cooke, and nieces of Bobby Womack. But rather than simply leaning on that extraordinary family tree, the sisters are carving out an identity of their own, combining vintage soul influences with contemporary R&B and deeply personal songwriting.
That approach has already begun attracting considerable attention. Their recent music—particularly “If I Let You”—has helped introduce the trio to a much wider audience ahead of the album’s release.
With “Monster,” The Womack Sisters offer another glimpse of a debut that feels less like the beginning of a musical story and more like the next chapter of one that has been unfolding in their family for generations. Soul music is alive, well and very much staying in the family.
