Pure Land Buddhism is a broad branch of Mahayana Buddhism focused on achieving rebirth in a Buddha's Buddha-field or Pure Land. It is one of the most widely practiced traditions of Buddhism in East Asia.
The stories of the Pure Land give all those who practice and believe in the Pure Land a chance to reach enlightenment. In Buddhism, the ultimate goal of life is to eventually reach enlightenment, or “Nirvana” as it is referred to in Buddhism.
