British pop star Olly Murs has officially reentered the music scene with his brand-new single “Save Me”, released on July 25, 2025 via his imprint ICYDK in partnership with BMG and Warner Chappell Music.
This track marks Murs’s first major release in three years since his 2022 album Marry Me, and it also heralds a fresh chapter: his first under his new label home BMG.
“Save Me” was co-written by Murs, Ed Drewett, James New, and producer Sky Adams, who also handled production duties. In sound and spirit, it leans into a ska-infused, high-energy pop blend—classic Murs energy, but with a modern twist.
Lyrically, the song tells a story many of us know too well: after an argument with his partner, the narrator decides to hit the town—and it all spirals out of control. Murs described it as “a song about a guy on a night out after having a row with his missus … and it goes horribly wrong.” He’s even called it a return to his earlier vibes (“Heart Skips a Beat,” “Thinking of Me,” “Please Don’t Let Me Go”) — but on version 2.0.
The music video for “Save Me” premiered alongside the single and is directed by Nick Suchak. In the clip, Murs and his friends embark on a wild night out that quickly becomes chaotic, as he tries (and struggles) to fix things with his partner.
Interestingly, Murs previewed the song during his 15 Years of Hits Tour before its official release, giving fans a first taste in a live setting. That kind of rollout built anticipation—and let him gauge real-time reactions.
By all accounts, “Save Me” is the opening salvo in what Murs is framing as a new Murs era. It’s catchy, confessional, and energetic—with a nod to past hits, while pushing into fresh territory.
