Mozart's Requiem in the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia
Mozart's Requiem in the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia
When a masterpiece of sacred music resonates within a spectacular architectural setting: the Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu deliver a magnificent performance of Mozart's "Requiem" within the walls of Barcelona's Sagrada Familia.

The two unfinished masterpieces—the Sagrada Familia basilica, a temple of light conceived by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, and Mozart's Requiem Mass in D minor—come together in perfect harmony.  In this symbiotic union, they create the sensation of an inseparable whole: every architectural element of the building, from the columns and arches to the modernist stained-glass windows, seems to respond to the dramatic power of the score.

Under the energetic direction of Maestro Giovanni Antonini, the Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, joined by four soloists, imbue this concert with a rare emotional intensity, palpable from the very first notes of the "Introitus." An immersive experience, magnified by inspired direction.
