In a stripped-down, five‑song set recorded in the cozy NPR office, they poured out fan-favorites like “Cult of Personality,” “Pride,” “Love Rears Its Ugly Head,” “Time’s Up”, and closed with “Solace of You,” delivering their signature fusion of funk, rock, and socially conscious lyrics.
Frontman Corey Glover’s voice retained its commanding presence, while Vernon Reid, Will Calhoun, and Doug Wimbish locked in tight grooves—proof that even in an intimate Tiny Desk setting, Living Colour can harness the same intensity that defined their 1990 Grammy‑winning sound.
.The performance is part of NPR’s Black Music Month series honoring classic albums, and it did not disappoint—offering both nostalgia and fierce, live energy. If you haven’t already, it’s worth reclaiming that Time’s Up spirit in this fresh, acoustic-laced interpretation.
