Yamaguchi, who became the first Asian American to win an individual figure skating gold medal, at the 1992 Winter Olympics, has been immortalized as a doll for Barbie's “Inspiring Women Series,” Mattel announced this past week. The release is timed for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, in May 2024.
The Kristi Yamaguchi doll, priced at $35, is available at mattelcreations.com, while supplies last. The doll may also be available at select Target and Walmart locations, and online via Amazon.
