A*Teens Return After 20 Years With New Single “ICONIC”
A*Teens Return After 20 Years With New Single “ICONIC”
A*Teens make a surprise comeback with “ICONIC,” their first new song in over two decades, bringing early-2000s pop joy back to life.

The early-2000s pop universe just cracked open like a perfectly timed CD case, because A*Teens have officially returned.

After more than two decades away from new releases, the Swedish pop group best known for bubbly hits like “Upside Down” and their ABBA-powered breakout era is stepping back into the spotlight with a brand-new single: “ICONIC.” The track arrives January 31 and marks their first original music in over 20 years.

The group — Marie Serneholt, Amit Paul, Dhani Lennevald, and Sara Lumholdt — has been teasing the comeback on social media, sending longtime fans into full nostalgia overload. And honestly? Fair. A*Teens were the soundtrack of a generation that thought pop music should sparkle harder and smile wider.

But this return isn’t just a retro wave. “ICONIC” is tied to something even bigger: A*Teens performed the song at Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, the high-glam national competition that can lead straight to Eurovision.  They performed so well in Heat 1 (held on January 31, 2026) that they were put straight through to the finals coming up in March.

In other words: this is not just a reunion. It’s a re-arrival.

The title says it all — “ICONIC” feels like a declaration, a wink, and a victory lap all at once. Pop history doesn’t often give us second chapters this shiny, but A*Teens are clearly ready to write one.

So yes… the teens are grown up.

But the chorus-filled joy? Still exactly the same.

You can grab the track over on iTunes and Amazon.
