The show‑stopper? A luminous, living dress teeming with bioluminescent algae—125 million micro-organisms glowing electric blue in response to movement. A sewn ecosystem in wearable form, conceived with Chris Bellamy—a statement that haute couture can literally breathe.

Van Herpen pushed further—bridging tech, biology, and artistry:
