Learn the rules to the dice game Left Center Right quickly and concisely. This also makes a great stocking stuffer for kids.
What You Need:
- 3 dice (special LCR dice or regular dice with house rules)
- Chips (or coins, candies, anything small)
- 3 chips per player to start
Dice Symbols (for LCR dice):
- L = Pass a chip to the Left
- C = Put a chip in the Center (pot)
- R = Pass a chip to the Right
- Dot = Keep your chip
How to Play:
- Each player starts with 3 chips.
- Take turns rolling the dice:
- Roll up to 3 dice (1 die per chip you have, max 3).
- For each die rolled:
- If you roll an L, pass one chip to the player on your left.
- If you roll a C, put one chip into the center pot (you lose it for now).
- If you roll an R, pass one chip to the player on your right.
- If you roll a dot, nothing happens — you keep your chip.
- Then the next player rolls.
Winning the Game:
- Keep playing until only one player has chips left.
- That player wins all the chips in the center!
Quick Example:
- You have 2 chips, so you roll 2 dice.
- You roll L and Dot.
- Give 1 chip to the player on your left.
- Keep the other chip (dot = no action).
Need dice?
If you don't have the proper dice but have some regular ones you can still play very easily.
Regular Dice Setup:
- 1, 2, 3 = Dots (keep your chip)
- 4 = Left (L)
- 5 = Center (C)
- 6 = Right (R)
You still need 3 dice and some chips (or coins, candies, whatever you like).
