How to make Onion, Ginger and Garlic Powders
How to make Onion, Ginger and Garlic Powders
This could not be simpler and is done within 4 days. Never purchase again.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Clean up the vegetable/spice
  • Chop it up
  • Place it on a dish separated
  • Sun dry for 4 days
  • Once dry throw it in a blender/chopper
  • Chop to a powder
  • You are done

NOW...if you need it quicker than 4 days for some reason.  You can either use a Dehydrator or your Oven.  Here's how...

If you are doing it in the oven you would set the temperature to 150-175.  Low and slow.  This takes about 9 hours.  At least for an onion.  You'll have to watch it BUT it will take all day.  Perfect for those of you working from home.

From my own experience doing it in the oven I set it to 175 and it cooked about 8 hours.

Now...here's another oven method with a slightly different temperature.  212 degrees for 4 hours.

You'll have to find out which method is best for you.  Depending on the vegetable or herb that you are drying.  If you are drying herbs I would suggest just bunching it up and hanging it in the sun.  The traditional method.  Tried and true.

What's your reaction?
