Dole Pineapple Whip
Dole Pineapple Whip
The Dole Whip was launched by Dole Food Company in 1983. It was initially known as Dole Pineapple Whip and was designed with Disney in mind.

The Dole Whip first appeared in Disney parks at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in 1984 and then at Disneyland in 1986. Therefore, the Dole Whip (not the Disney Dole Whip) came first.

Disney Dole Whip

  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple (16oz, 454g)
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice (use more as necessary for desired consistency) (120ml)
  • 1 heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream

Classic Dole Whip

Classic Dole whip is dairy-free. Dole has their own version that you can use as well if you like, but it isn't the one Disney Parks have (see above)

  • 1 cup ripe DOLE® pineapple, chopped and frozen
  • 1 ripe DOLE® Banana, peeled and frozen
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

DIRECTIONS (Disney version)

  1. Begin by adding the frozen pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and vanilla ice cream in a powerful blender. Then blend until smooth. You may need to add a few more tablespoons of pineapple juice. I usually start with the ice crush mode and go from there.
  2. After a few seconds if the blending stops and it doesn't seem like anything is getting blended. Shut the blender off and remove the lid, then use a spoon or move things around. Put the top on again and blend, etc. You may have to do this a few times depending on the blender you use.
  3. Note: You can use fresh pineapple that you cut and freeze yourself, or just buy the 16 oz bags of frozen dole pineapple chunks, which is what I usually do since that is the perfect amount.

For the original Dole version you would do the same.  Add all ingredients to the blender and turn it on.
