Candied Cheez-Its
Move over caramel corn, there's a new sweet-and-salty snack in town.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 (11.7-ounce) box Cheez-It Crackers

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the crackers out across the prepared baking sheet. Set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Remove from the heat and whisk in the baking soda.
  3. Working quickly, drizzle the mixture evenly over the crackers. Use a rubber spatula to ensure each cracker is coated, and arrange in a single layer.
  4. Bake the crackers for one hour, gently stirring every 15 minutes. Allow the crackers to cool completely before serving. Store leftovers at room temperature in an airtight container.
