Move over caramel corn, there's a new sweet-and-salty snack in town.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 (11.7-ounce) box Cheez-It Crackers
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the crackers out across the prepared baking sheet. Set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Remove from the heat and whisk in the baking soda.
- Working quickly, drizzle the mixture evenly over the crackers. Use a rubber spatula to ensure each cracker is coated, and arrange in a single layer.
- Bake the crackers for one hour, gently stirring every 15 minutes. Allow the crackers to cool completely before serving. Store leftovers at room temperature in an airtight container.
