Apple Cider Gravy
This delicious lightly sweet and savory Apple Cider Gravy is very easy to make with lots of ways to change it up.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 
  • 6 tablespoons butter 
  • 6 tablespoons flour 
  • 4 cups turkey or chicken broth 
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme 
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring apple cider and vinegar to a boil.
  2. Boil until reduced by half.
  3. Add broth and bring to a simmer.
  4. In a separate saucepan, melt butter. Add flour and stir to form a paste.
  5. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes, or until mixture has a slight aroma of popcorn.
  6. Slowly add cider-broth mixture, whisking constantly to smooth out any lumps.
  7. Add thyme. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  8. Bring to a simmer and stir until gravy thickens. Serve hot.
