Welcome all of you who are new to Ronald Jenkees awesome music! FIRST, let me say that if you are unfamiliar with his work from previous albums and you just stumbled upon this page -- Stop. Go to Jenkees YouTube account. Spend an hour there just watching him have SO much fun during his jam sessions. That's the only way to truly appreciate his music. It will lift your spirits. Here are 5 songs to check out. If these don't hook you then this style of music isn't for you. Disorganized Fun, 7 Times, Piano Wire, Throwing Fire, and The Sunfish Song. Ok, now that you've done that and you're back let me add if you dug on those 5 songs you'll prob love just about every track Jenkees has. SECOND, if you are a Jenkees veteran and are back for more then you have nothing to fear! Each album has show a certain maturity in musical quality. The Alpha Numeric album is top of the line. There is a shift from the hip hop, piano driven, and electronic vibe from Ronald's last three records. Most of the new tracks have a very cinematic orchestra feel that reminds me of something that I might expect from Two Steps From Hell or Audiomachine. Much of the video game sounding electronic bits are toned down and replaced by strings. Ironically though the first six tracks are indeed a soundtrack he crafted for a video game. Other tracks have jazz, acoustic guitars, piano, and even vocals in one track. I really don't believe there is a weak song among the bunch. That said, here's my top three standouts. Fall Drift, Alpha Numeric, and In Blue. The whole album is worth it. Thank you Ronald for being down to earth. Your music really seems to fit any occasion.

This album failed to catch me like the other ones did. I mean the first track sounded EXACTLY like background music in Ratchet and Clank. But after a while of really listining to the album, some of the tracks really got me.
  • Amazing

Once again, an awesome album from Jenkees! My ears have been waiting for a while to hear this and they were not disappointed! This album definitely some more cinematic elements in it than some of his previous works, but but the jams are still there and strong! Jenkees is super unique and this album is another one in a genre all its own. If you have time for just one listen, the go straight to IN BLUE and see if it is possible to not have fun…it's quintessential Jenkees! Keep the music coming!

Ronald Jenkees has outdone himself yet again. Alpha Numeric is brilliant. What else would you expect? The first six tracks were composed for the tactical real-time strategy game, There Came an Echo, by Iridium Studios. It’s pretty amazing that, despite containing specific tracks for the game, the whole album not only feels totally coherent, but does so with RJ’s signature style all over it. Alpha Numeric takes off where ‘From the Arrow Loop’ left off (from the Days Away album), rocketing us directly into the future. RJ has evolved his sound to even greater heights, sophistication and intricacy. The result is an album that is nothing short of spectacular. Here’s my track-by-track reflection. Synergetics – Great way to start out and really sets the tone and mood for how the rest of the album will play out. Tactical. Smart. Groovy. Futuristic. Puts you right in the heart of the action. Filter In – Game on. The driving beat moves you forward. A sense of anticipation and courage in the face of the unknown. But not without a sense of calm. In Blue – Wow. Love at first sight for me. The cinematic intro sets up something perhaps familiar, but Ronald has other plans. What you hear next may just blow your mind (it did mine). The main synth motif shimmers, dances and grooves with its piercing icy blue light. The layering effect elsewhere in the song is phenomenal; the groove will appear ever so gradually out of the fog, almost imperceptibly, until you’re there nodding your head again to its refracting rhythms. This one is imminently danceable, and I could only imagine some futuristic squadron doing their tactical maneuvers (i.e. dancing!) completely in sync to these hypnotic sounds. Ronald also throws in some very signature riffs that seal the deal for this all-time track. Mr. Mac – Now doesn’t that sound like some retro Nintendo boss from the 80’s? Yeah. But this guy’s on your team and he’s got your back. Mr. Mac. Bass line is masterful. Really really catchy melody line/chorus. Everything about this tune is smooooth. I also love it when RJ gets funky with those chords and key changes in the back end of the song. Echo Out – It’s like RJ was reading my mind. After the last few tracks - all the adrenaline and action - I felt like I needed a brief respite. Well, Echo Out certainly takes you there. Perhaps the most atmospheric track on the album. Some really creative piano parts and cool echo-ey synth effects place you in the midst of what sounds like some magical forest brimming with hummingbirds and other delightful flora and fauna. Soothed and ready for whatever’s next, Mr. Jenkees. Alpha Numeric – Another standout track which ventures into anthemic rock territory. It’s bombastic and bold, upbeat and utterly inspiring. Sounds like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Hotel Midi – Now things are getting tense; simultaneously electrifying and nostalgically chill. I love how Ronald plays with these ideas. You have a frantic musical battleground with slower pockets of sanity and hope. 103 Degrees – The close cousin to Hotel Midi, only with more fire. Bluesy intro bleeds into some of the heaviest and most aggressive material on the album. Watch out for those synth grenades and swirling arpeggios! Much like Hotel Midi, we have a slow-down section in this one, only with more pronounced dreamscape before getting jolted back into reality at hyper-speed. Slow to Spring - Interesting and deft choice here by Ronald. Like ‘With Water and Light’ and ‘Deep-Sea Sounding’ in Days Away, 'Slow to Spring' showcases Ronald’s incredible musical diversity and really unearths the unique and paradoxical heartbeat of Alpha Numeric. I was thirsting for more resolution on this one, but I was left lingering there in the dry and heat. Alas, a little bit of longing and retrospective might just be the oasis one needs. Amidst the chaos and thrills, and the insatiable thirst for adventure with your closest comrades, perhaps somewhere out there is a place that resembles home. Fall Drift – Pure mystery and heart. This one is near the top for me. The piano melody is just stunning and the chip tunes arpeggios are really tastefully done. RJ even throws in some funky upbeat single-note rhythms (and an awesome solo) that balance the otherwise more reflective and evocative tone of the song. Man I cannot get enough of this gem. All the Circles – Great piano part and some really killer harmonies. It’s most definitely a winding down song, capping off the journey with sentimental cinematic flourishes. Dream Happy – RJ’s musical diversity and creativity in full effect here, a sweet and dreamy dessert for the senses. What a way to go out! I’ll be listening to this album for years to come. Ronald Jenkees, I salute you!
