The Original Rocket(te)s
The Original Rocket(te)s
The Christmas season kicks off in New York City with the Radio City Rockettes: they perform in the Macy’s Day Parade, help light the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and dance on stage at the Radio City Music Hall in Midtown Manhattan.

It’s a New York City Christmas tradition…that actually started on Grand Boulevard (in the Missouri Theatre across the street from the Fabulous Fox Theatre) in St. Louis, Missouri in October 1925.

A great-niece of one of the original 16 Missouri Rockets - the original name of the Rockettes - shares her Great Aunt Corinne’s photos and letters from the start of this now iconic group.
