A TV adaptation of Washington Irving's classic ghost story. Humor is the drawing card in this version, with Jeff Goldblum a nerdish Ichabod Crane, Dick Butkus an appropriately nasty Brom Bones, and Meg Foster as spirited Katrina van Tassel.

Timid schoolteacher Ichabod Crane faces a headless horseman one dark Halloween night.

"Headless Horseman" is a villain song from the film, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949) sung by Brom Bones (Bing Crosby). Produced by Walt Disney Productions.

Washington Irving's tale of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow may have had its origins actual historical events!

These headless monsters of Celtic lore are connected to horses, carriages, and graveyards—and they cannot be defeated. Oscar Wilde even called them “the most terrible thing in the world.”
