Rhino Hi-Five: Marc Cohn - EP

I have seen Marc play live many times. He is a very nice guy and he is as sincere in person as he is in his music. All of his songs are heartfelt and well constructed, with deeper meanings that become clearer as you come to know him. Marc is an artist who can touch you with his music and when you are in love, his music is that much more special. As for this short album, it has some good songs on it, but spend the extra 6 bucks and buy his first self-titled album instead. You will get most of these songs and many more you will treasure.

Walking in Memphis is one of the most lamest commercial songs I have ever heard. May the music gods find and destroy every known copy.

I've always loved Marc's music, this is no exception. He is such a kind and wonderful guy, if you ever get to meet him you won't be disapointed. Keep up the good work Marc, see you in NY!

Marc just makes outstanding music. It's just that simple.

Cohn is not a rock singer, but goes back to a time before jangling quitars and exploding amps. He is white R and B. His ballads paint pictures and evoke deep emotions. From the hopes of his father in Silver Thunderbird, to the passion of True Companion, Marc Cohn doesn't hide his feelings nor over emote. His songs are well constructed portraits of life and love. You can't miss with this CD.

I just found out that Marc Cohn is on the one hit wonder iTunes compilation and I am shocked! He has so many great songs; the Marc Cohn album is amazing from beginning to end. When I saw him last week he played some new stuff that was just out of this world, I can't wait for his new record. It's always amazed me that he has stayed somewhat obscure most people only know "Walking in Memphis", he has so much more and I encourage anyone who likes Walking in Memphis to download his live album or any of his others!!!!

"Walking in Memphis" is one of my favorite songs of all time! Forget Cher's version, horrible, and get Marc's, the original! Great voice, great story, great lyrics, great piano and great video!
