This album is a masterpiece. A guaranteed buy for every self-proclaimed hip-hop head out there. The beginning of Eastern Philosophy showcases Ap's lyrical dexterity, as he brings in the album and spins a tale about living on the East Coast. The songs are beautiful, ranging from battle raps such as "1000 Grams" to intelligent talks about making cash in "9 to 5". Celph Titled appears on two tracks, showcasing his dark hilarity, as does Ryu for Styles of Beyond. The later songs get into deeper, more philosophical issues, such as "Chemical", a song about the nature of our world and how it is fueled by artificial, well, chemicals, to "The Buck Stops Here", an ode to the infamous dollar bill. To round it all off, the tape ends with "The Winter", a chilling account of the cold days on the East Side. An instant classic.

This album is a true East Coast underground classic. A really 90's feel to it. What Hip-Hop is supposed to be like. Take note, kids.
