Maybe with Carl doing backing chorus this would've been an "ok" cover; but this is horrible
  • The Beach Boy from Baltimore?

Somehow, Mike Love having a wife and kids in Baltimore just doesn't work. Mr. Love is an accomplished lyricist and skilled vocalist, but never seems to get it right with his solo selections. I'm not a "Mike Love the Beach Boys Villain" type, but despite his very distinctive and instantly recognizable voice, this one just doesn't do it for me. His harmonies with his son (I assume that's one of the people he's singing with) are good, but "Cool Head, Warm Heart" is a much better song and performance. Also, I don't get the cover art with the corn crib. Is there a connection, or do I want to know?

Proof once more, the guy has no talent. Why ruin a good song?
  • Oh, the horror.

Not content with the turning one of the great American bands into a cash-for-covers lounge act, Mike Love levels his weapon at another talented icon of the American song. There should be a court order to stop this. In the mean time, go buy "Pet Sounds" and give it to your children.

It sounds like a knockoff band from a karaoke disc.
  • For true Beach Boys fans only!!!

This sounds like music from the Beach Boys circa mid 80's and could have easily been on the simply titled "Beach Boys" album from 1985. Everytime I would hear the Springsteen song I would think of what a great job he did copying the Beach Boys sound. Way to go Bruce. Thanks for paying tribute to one of the greatest bands in rock 'n roll history! But now this is the chance to hear the song with THE voice that was meant to sing this great tune. My only regret is that it's too short. Good job Mike!
