One of the first dnb cds I ever heard, and track 1 (disc 2), "Manslaughter," made my world stop, an effect which doesn't let up through both cds. Those of you familiar with Goldie and dnb in general are, I'm sure, more qualified to comment on this cd in the scope of jungle/dnb history. However, from a simple hard beat-driven music geek's standpoint (one who normally listens to underground hip-hop, e.g. MF DOOM), this cd set is top-notch, an opinion held from the first listen through checking out maybe 30 other cds in the genre--not many, I know, for a more focussed dnb fan, but enough to show me that there is not much else out there on this level, or at least as much to my taste (dark, deep, hard, uncompromising, and quite visceral)--though I keep looking. Also recommended: AK1200's "At Close Range."
