STRUFOLI (Italian Honey Balls)

Struffoli are small deep-fried balls of dough, coated in warm honey and generally enjoyed during the holiday season. They make any occasion festive and fun!

Dough Recipe

  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • Few teaspoons of olive oil quanto basta
  • Optional: Grated zest of one orange
  • 3 cups canola or other vegetable oil for frying

Glaze

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange blossom water or orange juice
  • Grated zest of one orange
  • Colored sprinkles
  • Optional: red and green candied cherries
