Traditional Mexican Carnitas

The easiest, simplest and most delicious traditional carnitas. Minus the beer. Perfect to make tacos, burritos, gorditas or tortas.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 lbs pork butt/shoulder
  • 10 lbs pork lard
  • 2 onion
  • 2 garlic heads
  • Sea salt I used 4 tbsp 
  • 18 oz Mexican coke- it’s cane sugar helps to give that caramalized brown color
  • 2-3 oranges
