How To Make Balsamic Reduction (Balsamic Glaze)

This sweet and tangy balsamic glaze is an easy, delicious topping for roasted or grilled vegetables, bruschetta, pizza, fruit, and more!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • Optional sweetener: 1 to 2 tablespoons honey, maple syrup or brown sugar

NOTE:  Technically you don't need the sweetener.  Just the vinegar.  The sweetener takes away some of the "bite" of the vinegar and adds that little extra flair in flavor.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add the balsamic vinegar and any sweetener to a small pot. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until the sauce coats the back of a spoon. It should have reduced about 75%.
  2. Use immediately or store in a sealed container in the fridge. It will continue to thicken up as it cools.
